Here I am for Halloween work. They wanted me to dress up at the diner for Thursday and of course I always have to do Scarlett. Would you believe I spent the whole day over a hot sink washing dishes this way. Still I was comfortable, but it was friday, (Bar-B-Que Rib Day) and everyone on in town had to come to pig out. I worked and worked and I was so tired by the end of the day that Scarlett was so tired, she didn’t have the energy to put on her party dress to attend the Great Bend Coffee Company talent night. It was really sad.

I was digging around in the attic for some poems I was supposed to read a couple of weeks ago. I found them, but in the meantime I came across this little blank book I started drawing in. That was back in 2002. I guess the drawing were doing nothing for me and I stopped. Well… To tell the truth the drawing will still not doing anything, but I wanted to do the book anyway. I have a crazy thing in my head that refuses to tear out the pages in those books. I have to keep the drawing and sometimes that is hard to do. Well, I have a trick I use to spare those things. I just keep drawing until I save them. In the case of those 2002 drawings I just drew over them with a sharpie pen and I saved them enough to feel good about them.
Here lately I’ve been making blind contour sketches on the page and then looking at the results and finishing the drawins. That is why all the new stuff looks so haphazard and with lots of unused lines. I get bored with the same ole thing and I have to keep on finding new things to keep me stimulated. We don’t want Bob to become a dull boy, now do we?
