This is the latest additions. It was really cold on that day and today is even colder. I gotta get it to warm up before I go any farther.

Listening

Thursday, September 24th, 2009

I listen to the preachers on the radio I don’t much agree with. I listen to the talk shows I don’t necessarily agree with, but I listen to what those people are saying about other people and issue troubling the world these days. There’s allot to be frightened about these days, but it ain’t as bad as they make it all sound. This country had survived this long and its still alive and very well. It survived the past eight years under the worst president in history and even he couldn’t destroy it, even if he did his best to tamper with our bill of rights and our basic freedom. Today the whole country is up and upset over this health bill and I’m agreeing with stuff from both sides, but the both sides are so afraid of one another they just can’t come to the middle isle and agree on something. Its the “they and the us!”

Tonight I was driving home from work listening to the Phil Valentine show on the radio. I actually find myself agreeing with the man lots of times then out of the blue he screws up his argument and I have to shut him off. Tonight it was on the War against poverty. I’m shaking my head in agreement, but I was waiting for the moment when I was forced to turn him off. It always comes and I’m sure its his bread and butter, but it really bothers me. I wait for the place where he has to say:” Those Liberals!” Why he has to resort to the name game or the blame game, I just don’t know… unless its his bread and butter to keep his ratings up with those… (Well I just won’t say the word) because it reallys isn’t the Conservatives Vs. the Liberals no more than it was those gays, those crossdressers, those commies, those liberated women. Its all of us and for everyone’s well being… the sky isn’t falling on this country and with a small amount of courage (something we’ve lost) we can get together and get it all worked out.

Ouch! What the hell was that? Oh, It’s just a branch that fell off our neighbors tree. Oh well, the shade has really been nice this summer. I’m sure glad it wasn’t the sky.

There’s no place like home.

I went back to the job at the diner this morning. I went in at 9:30 just like I was supposed to. They didn’t bat an eye, because they knew I’d be there. Today is around the same time a year ago I went to work for the diner as the dishwasher. I can’t remember now how many people have come and gone since I started. I’m pretty sure its been atleast five dishwashers that have dropped in and dropped out. The longest lasted about a month. The job really isn’t all that difficult. I told Diane some months ago that I could be easily replaced by three twenty two year olds and now I’m starting to believe it myself.

The floors were pretty dirty this morning and I’ve only been gone for four days this strech. I don’t think this new dishwasher knows how to mop. I guess the theory is to spread around the dirt and not actually pick it up. In my spare time between breakfast and dinner, I managed to mop up a great deal of soil. Still it was something good, because it sort of freed me up. If Diane is happy with the condition of the floors, that means that I don’t have to work so hard all the time. some times I can just leave them messy when I’m not in the mood to stick around and make every thing sweet for the next shift.

Lisa just called so I got to have a nice long talk with one of my two favorite daughters. What a perfect day. The really isn’t any place as good as home and family.

Remember Me?

I’ve lost my audience. I doubt if anyone even comes to this blog site any longer. I wouldn’t blame anyone either. I’ve been lost in my own juices. The big art show just threw off everything. I haven’t been writing letters, sending out art. I’ve just been floating around. I just wanted to let you know that I’m back and maybe I’ll climb back in my own skin and start keeping my blog up.
Just before going off again to the Winfield Music Festival I worked a day on the mural on the Great Bend Coffee wall. I’m really hoping god will be kind enough to allow me to get far enough along to make it look finished before the nasty weather comes blowing in. I just wouldn’t do well out on the sidewalk freezing to death. Well anyway, here is the latest efforts so far.
