I know I should be doing a better job at keeping this blog up to date, but let’s face it, I’m lazy. This past week from the 14th to the 21st, Marcella and I have been living it up in New York City. We really had the time of our lives. We rode the Subway, bus system and the taxi cabs.
From the airport to our destination, we got this wild hispanic cab driver that introduced us to the finer points of crazy New York driving. The driver was trying to deliver another passenger to the David Letterman show and they were late. We just went along for the ride.
The rest of the adventure wasn’t as dramatic as the opening act, but was just as fun. The highlight of our experience was the meeting of my pen pal I met in Central Park two years ago. Back then we were delayed in going home by a New York record snow storm. Diane Feldt, Ann Rogers and myself went down to Central Park and that day. We came across a lady playing with their grandchild. I asked to take a picture and when I did, she asked me to send a copy to her. Thus I met Raffealla Depero. I kept on writing and when Marcella and I returned this year, we got together at the Depero Apartment for a wonderful meal and conversation. I guess that doesn’t make us strangers any longer.
